Jeb: Is Mr. Big history?
Billy: Yes, for me it is. They threw me out of the band.
Jeb: They threw you out?
Billy: I swear to God. I was as astonished as you are. I
thought, “Wait a minute - I started this band 12 years ago.”
I think the band in general has gone quite a bit lighter.
They just don’t work enough for me and they don’t work hard
enough for me. I want to play and sing and perform and tour.
It is just a little bit of a lazy situation. They do two weeks
in Japan and make all the money they need for the year and
then that’s it. I can’t do that. I am not money motivated
either. If I have to go on tour and break even or even loose
a little money - I’m there because I want to play. Unfortunately,
a situation came into the band. Material wise it is a little
to light for me. I enjoy good ballads. I love To Be With You.
I love the ballads that we do but I want to balance it with
some cool stuff too. Ying and yang. They are just leaning
way too much to one side and I couldn’t hang with it anymore
so they tossed me out of the band. I am still pretty upset
about it. I do wish them well.
Jeb: When the rumor was going around I figured that Billy
Sheehan had left Mr. Big because I never could have imagined
that it was any other way.
Billy: They fired me. I am not a quitter. In spite of the
fact that it was not going the direction that I would have
liked it to go, the fans of that band mean everything to me.
Everything that I have was paid for by somebody buying a ticket,
a t-shirt or a CD. I am very, very thankful to them and I
would never abandon them. I still won’t. Unfortunately, the
band didn’t think that way so they asked me to get the hell
out.

BE WITH YOU”这样的歌，但是他也想做一些很酷很难的音乐，跟那些慢歌保持一个平衡，但是乐队却只偏向一方面，他不能赞同他们的做法，因此乐队把他排除了！他依旧很希望乐队能很好的发展！乐队开除了他，但他不是一个懦夫，尽管他不希望是这样的，乐队的那些忠实歌迷对他来说意味着一切！他所拥有的一切都是那些歌迷们买一张演出票，一件T恤衫，一张CD所换来的，他非常非常感谢那些歌迷，永远也不会背弃他们！不幸的是乐队并不这样想，他们还是让他滚蛋了！
